DeSantis Appears to Take Wardrobe Advice, Tightens up his Appearance

As he reboots his presidential campaign, Governor Ron DeSantis appears to be staying true to some of the campaign revamp's outline. It appears as if DeSantis is unleashing himself more during a Never Back Down SuperPac bus tour in Iowa, wardrobe and all.

Gov. DeSantis is going around meeting everyday Iowans—not rope lines and over-the-top media events.

In addition, the fiery DeSantis is back, and this week his old self reared its head at a reporter when he was asked,” Were there beneficial aspects to slavery?”

DeSantis fired back. “That’s not what the curriculum said, it's not…Have you read it (curriculum)? Have you read it? You haven’t read it. But you haven’t read it, so I’m just making that clear,” said DeSantis.

And it looks as if listened to my wardrobe suggestions.

“He’s literally out-of-step with Middle America.

DeSantis needs to lose the black cowboy boots. While they are cool and fashionable, he can’t wear them everywhere he goes.

He also can’t wear those big ole industrial work boots with oversized blue jeans.

First of all, DeSantis needs a new pair of cowboy boots. Here is an image of my dark brown, (very relatable to most men) Ariat boots ($300 or so).” (Source: Floridian)

The temperature in Iowa was in the mid-80s, so outside of wearing a jacket vest, DeSantis ditched his pointy black cowboy boots and oversized work blue jeans.

He wore loose but better-fitting slacks and less-pointy boots or shoes when he made the rounds at local meat companies and the Wayne County fair.

DeSantis is still way down in the polls to former President Donald Trump, who was hit with a few more federal charges in the documents case against him, but he appears to be listening to sound corrective criticism and advice.

Again, it's very early in the 2024 Republican presidential sweepstakes, so, don’t count DeSantis out.

Now, with all that said, it is only a matter of time before his campaign staff wisens up and sits him and me down for one of our classic video interviews. Right?

For whatever reason, we have not been granted an interview request in several years, yet DeSantis calls on us every time during press conferences, and the Governor himself still appears very amicable to me every time he sees me, even poking fun at his amigo whom he has known since early 2012.

Yeah, it’s been that long.

No more bullshit excuses?

Will the governor refuse to take a picture with my 5-year-old, again, who traveled with me to Tallahassee earlier this year to meet “Daddy’s friends” and the “President of Florida?”

Let me just say that she was very disappointed that she was not allowed to meet DeSantis even though he saw her right in the front row, and had plenty of time to pose for one picture with her. I will blame his staff for upsetting my daughter, for now.
