During a press conference to announce the end of the 2023 Florida legislative session in Tallahassee, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took a swipe at child sex reassignments and media outlets he feels have been complicit in propagating sex change operations and procedures to children.
"I know that people in your industry(media) will dress it up with a euphemism that they'll say it's healthcare to cut off the private parts of a 14 or 15-year-old. That is not healthcare. That is mutilation, “said Gov. DeSantis
Gov. DeSantis added that people, particularly teenagers, “go through a lot,” and those same teenagers will eventually “grow out of it most of the time in these situations 80-90% resolved by the time you get there.”
“I understand some of those same activists were upset about the death penalty for raping minors under 12. Why are you upset about that? Is that really the hill that you want to die on? I think some of these people particularly the serial abusers of these kids I think the only appropriate punishment is capital punishment in those situations,” DeSantis concluded.
DeSantis signed into law bipartisan legislation that would impose the death penalty on anyone convicted of child rape in Florida.
