Prior to the House Foreign Affairs Committee's first hearing on the infamous 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) had harsh words for President Biden on Fox's Mornings with Maria, saying the President "singlehandedly armed one of the world's worst terrorist organizations."

"Biden ‘singlehandedly’ armed one of the world’s worst terrorist organizations," stated The Mornings with Maria Twitter account tweeted.

In addition to the hearing, Rep. Mills and host Maria Bartiromo discussed the recent kidnapping of four Americans in Mexico; of which two survived to be rescued.

While Rep. Mills said it is "great" two hostages were recovered, the incident demonstrated the need for more forceful action against the cartels.

"We have to acknowledge the fact that these cartels have stepped up their game and that it is time for the Americans to actually answer with force," said Mills.

In response, Bartiromo brought up the fact that "we all know" China manufactures the base chemicals of fentanyl the cartels smuggle into the US, prompting a discussion of recent Chinese aggression.

Mills named the impetus for China to act more boldly as the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal of 2021, to which Bartiromo asks what he expected from the Foreign Affairs Committee's hearing on the subject.

Mills answered that "what we really need is transparency and accountability."

"What we really need is transparency and accountability. We need to show the American people that this was about political optics over military strategy. The idea of shutting down Bagram Air Base instead of actually maintaining two running at the same time simultaneously so that people could utilize their commercial flights home. The fact that those 13 brave servicemembers who lost their lives and their Gold Star families could have been avoidable. The fact that we had 40,000 people who were released in the Bagram detention center who were known terrorists," Mills said.

Concluding, he adds that "here's the worst part, Maria, you also had +$80 billion in weapons, in armament, in defense articles, in ammunition and millions of dollars of cash that was left to the Taliban and to the Haqqani Network, and to ISIS Khorasan. Joe Biden has singlehandedly armed and equipped one of the worst terrorist organizations in the world, and there needs to be transparency and accountability held."
