WESH 2 News Bars Scotty Moore from Debate Over Vaccination Status

Regulations regarding COVID-19 have largely fallen out of the political conversation.  However, candidates are now being barred from debating due to their vaccine status.  Last week, GOP congressional candidate, Scotty Moore (R-FL) was barred from a debate because he is not vaccinated.

Scotty Moore, who won the Republican primary by a more than significant margin, is challenging incumbent US Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL) in Florida's District 9.  Moore's campaign has been going smoothly since easily securing the party nomination last month, however, WESH 2 Orlando recently canceled his debate against Rep. Soto.

"Today, WESH 2 Orlando canceled the debate between Darren Soto and myself for what they cited as my being unvaccinated," said candidate Scotty Moore. "Not only are liberal government politicians pushing mandates upon us, now woke Corporate America is doing the same.  I believe in medical freedom, and I believe my voice, political or otherwise, should not be silenced for refusing to adhere to this unproven vaccine.  Woke Corporate Media is hard at work to silence our voices, but we will not allow it.  I will not take an experimental vaccine just to share my views with the American people."

Apparently, Moore offered to accommodate the network to allow the debate to proceed through rapid testing and even offered to debate outside.  Both of these resolutions were seemingly shot down.  Moore is now blaming the approach taken by the network and team Soto on Democrat leadership and culture regarding the COVID-19 pandemic stating, "I offered to take a COVID-19 rapid test and even suggested we do the debate outside, but both compromises were dismissed.  This is yet another reason why it is imperative we take back the House, fire Nancy Pelosi, and Save America!"

Just this week, another debate between Bonnie Jackson (R-FL) and State Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-FL) was cancelled on account of Jackson not providing proof of vaccination.  Incidentally, the same news corporation, WESH 2, was responsible for shutting down the debate.

Even two years ago, COVID-19 played a role in complicating the 2020 presidential debates between US President Donald Trump (R) and then-candidate Joe Biden (D).  Now halfway into the Biden Administration, could we be witnessing the decay of public discourse in American politics?
