In an interview with The Floridian,  conservative journalist and Florida Congressional candidate Laura Loomerdoubled-down on her assertion that Rep. Ilhan Omar is supportive of the ISIS terror groupand is a "jihadist."

Loomer, who is running against Republican incumbent Rep. Daniel Webster (R), has attracted controversy over the years, not least of all for her confrontation with Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN)and now-Rep. Rashida Tlaib in 2018.

Loomer refers to both Reps. Omar and Tlaib as "jihadists who are filtrating our Congress" and part of the "Hamas Caucus."

This incident prompted Loomer's banning from Twitter, but this has not dissuaded her from running for the U.S. House of Representatives. In the interview with her, Loomer maintains that Omar is an ISIS (Islamic State) sympathizer.

TRANSCRIPTION:

Loomer: "Well I am a Jewish-American, I am pro-Israel, I believe that we need to continue funding the Iron Dome, and I find it despicable that "the Squad" of course, the members of the Squad, or the Hamas Caucus, a term that I coined famously several years ago, when I exposed Ilhan Omar, I was the first journalist to expose Ilhan Omar marrying her brother, I've confronted Rashida Tlaib about her refusal to condemn Hamas, and her refusal to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and as a result she physically assaulted me. And I had to file an assault and battery lawsuit against her in the state of Minnesota, where she assaulted me at a joint event with Ilhan Omar."

Loomer: "And so, y'know I've already had interactions with these jihadists who are infiltrating our Congress, Ilhan Omar inappropriately serving the House Foreign Affairs Committee despite the fact that she has documented ties to ISIS, documented ties to Hamas, documented ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, it's unacceptable. And I'm not afraid to call these women out for their dangerous Islamic affiliations. I know that many in the GOP establishment are scared to do so, and that's why they falsely refer to me as "anti-Muslim" and Islamophobic, but there should never be ISIS sympathizers sitting on the House Foreign Affairs Committee receiving classified information."

The Floridian: "So you're saying Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are ISIS supporters?"

Loomer: "Well, I'm saying that Ilhan Omar is an ISIS supporter, and that there's documented proof and the fact that as a Representative, she actually penned a letter to a judge in the Fifth Congressional District of Minnesota, which she represents, in which she asked the judge to provide leniency and shorter sentences, and commuted sentences to several Somali Muslim men who were caught trying to join ISIS overseas so that they could murder Americans. So yeah, she actually is pro-ISIS, and there's documents to prove it."

Webster and Loomer will face off in the August 23rd Republican primary election. The winner is all but assured to become the next member of Congress in that district. Webster would keep his seat, if he wins the primary contest.
