Last week as reported by the Floridian, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) debated with Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen in the House Judiciary Committee over Hunter Biden's alleged corrupt business dealings and the FBI's negligence in investigating it. Rep. Gaetz vows that his questions will have answers sooner rather than later, and now has just begun the process.
In an exclusive Breitbart article published Monday, Gaetz reveals his intentions of forming a select committee to investigate the Bidens after the midterms. The committee will draw members from the House's Foreign Affairs, Financial Services, Oversight, and Judiciary Committees. Gaetz cites the infamous January 6th Committee as "precedent" in the interview. Not, he clarifies, as an exercise in partisan revenge tactics, but of how and where to get committee members.
Gaetz expresses certainty that some of the President's son's business partners would be willing to testify. Breitbart quotes Gaetz as saying, "we may have more Tony Bobulinskis that simply haven’t been given the protection of a Republican majority that could honor whistleblower protections — and do something with the information."
Additionally, the proposed will issue subpoenas for multiple entities. These include travel records, influence brokers, foreign officials, and phone companies. Gaetz specifically cites the 2013 deal with China Hunter made launching the Bohai Harvest firm. Because the Chinese gave Biden a business license shortly after he left China on Air Force Two, this raises questions on his father Joe's possible involvement. Subsequently, Gaetz says "we are going to wanna talk to some people around that deal to understand what was traded for that."
Closing the interview, Gaetz casts doubt Attorney General Merrick Garland will appoint a special counsel should the committee form. He jokingly states nobody in the Department of Justice would be willing to be prosecutor if it meant investigating the President's son.
Gaetz then wrote the following tweet Monday night:
