Recently, US Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) gave his response to a group of Venezuelans who criticized him.  Now, Florida Democrats are taking issue with his remarks, calling the Senator, "disgraceful."

Venezuelan leaders called out Sen. Rubio for failing to support TPS recipients and being too weak to stand up to his party leaders, Rubio responded by, "insulting," them, claim the Florida Democrats.

Rubio told the Miami Herald in response to this pressure that, "these are Democrat groups that are more Democrats than they are Venezuelan."

“It’s disgraceful that Marco Rubio cares more about picking political fights with his constituents than standing up for them. Insulting Venezuelans who fled Maduro’s brutal regime and simply want to continue living in America is a new low, even for him,” said Florida Democratic Party spokesperson Grant Fox.

Florida Democrats are not surprised with these comments, claiming they have noticed a, "history of refusing to stand up for the Venezuelans who fled from Maduro’s regime and are building a life in Florida thanks to the protections of Temporary Protected Status."

Rubio has however, shown a strong opposition to the Socialist regime that currently runs the nation of Venezuela.  The incumbent Senator recently said his challenger for his senate seat, US Rep. Val Demings (D-FL), was too, "wishy washy," on the matter and the Democrat foreign policy approach to Venezuela is, "half-baked."
