Sprowls is scheduled to be joined at the news conference by Senate President Wilton Simpson, R-Trilby, and Rep. Thad Altman, an Indialantic Republican who is sponsoring the bill (HB 7065). During a floor session later Wednesday, the House could pass the bill, which, in part, would direct the Department of Children and Families to contract for the development of a “Responsible Fatherhood Initiative.”

Also, the bill would require the department to provide grants to non-profit community organizations to address the needs of fathers.
