Christina Pushaw Blames Biden for Monoclonal Shortage

Share

With monoclonal treatment now having bipartisan support across the nation, Florida is seeing an untimely shortage of the COVID-19 treatment and many Democrats are blaming Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

However, Gov. DeSantis's  Press Secretary Christina Pushaw (R-FL) is blaming the Biden Administration for the shortage of monoclonal treatment.

Monoclonal therapies were first introduced to Florida in controversy, with many Democrats firmly opposed to the then-new treatment.  However, prominent Florida progressives such as, State Rep. Carlos G. Smith (D-49) and Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried (D-FL), came around with endorsements of the treatment late last year.

In a Tweet over the weekend, Pushaw blamed the shortage of the treatment on, "Biden's idea of 'equity,'" commenting that the administration, "was hoarding monoclonal antibody treatments so he could give NY 3 times as much as Florida.":

The comments stem from the COVID-19 developments happening in NYC as of recently, which Pushaw herself commented on, claiming that experts have, "finally embraced the theory of seasonality, and say 'population density' is the most important factor."  Adding, "If that’s the case, then why do they push for rural areas to have mandates too?"

Pushaw then gave her Twitter following a side by side comparison of New York and Florida in terms of fighting the pandemic, a topic as old as COVID-19 itself:

"Also, now that NYC is breaking case records everyday, they’re finally pushing the idea that hospitalizations ought to be a bigger concern than cases. Florida’s hospitalization rate is lower though. Less than 10% of our ICU beds are used by COVID patients currently," stated Pushaw.

Pushaw has been on the front lines of COVID-19 messaging in Florida since the rivalry between the Biden Administration and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was forged.  Pushaw has especially made a name for herself when firing back at Florida publications such as the Miami Herald.
