In modern America, we champion the diversity of race, sex, and backgrounds of all kinds. However, the "Squad" and Progressives-at-large have ignored now-Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears' historic election.
Sears, who is the first black woman elected Lt. Governor in Virginia and a naturalized citizen to be elected state-wide, has smashed the status quo we have seen thus far in state-wide politics.
In arriving from her native Jamaica, Sears served in the United States Marine Corps and was elected to one term in the Virginia House of Delegates.
The "Squad," however, did not take too kindly to the idea of a Youngkin-Sears Administration, ideologically and for what it means in 2022's midterm elections.
Fox News reportedly reached out to members of Congress: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Talib (D-MI), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) for comments on Sears' victory early Wednesday morning, in which none of their offices gave a comment.
Although Progressives stayed relatively silent, firebrand conservative US Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) seemed ecstatic for the new leadership in VA. The Congressman claimed that the issues on the ballot "transcend the Commonwealth," and that, "Today is a great day for the future of America!":
On the ballot in Virginia were issues that transcend the Commonwealth, issues like school choice, freedom, lower taxes, no mandates, and safety.

Sears, however, delivered comments on her candidacy upon winning the election, "I'm telling you that what you are looking at is the American dream." Adding, "In case you haven't noticed, I am Black. And I have been Black all my life, but that's not what this is about. What we are going to do now is be about the business of the Commonwealth."
The new Lieutenant Governor listed her plans for the Commonwealth of Virginia, such as "fully fund our historically Black colleges and universities, safer neighborhoods, and our children are going to get a good education."
Education according to mainstream media, was a crucial element in the Virginia election after several school districts faced retaliation over implementing the Critical Race Theory curriculum in schools.
