In the ugly world of politics, and in the new ‘Woke” and “Cancel Culture” Americans find themselves living in, no one is off-limits to political attacks or "Doxxing," not even Gov. Ron DeSantis’s kids.
In a tweet, Tallahassee Democrat Reporter Ana Goñi-Lessan stated that Leon County School Board member Rosanne Wood asserted that the school where Gov. Ron DeSantis’s two young children are enrolled, will not allow parents to "opt-out" from the mask rule.
Goni-Lessan posted the email from the school. In respect to the DeSantis family, The Floridian will not compromise its ethics and integrity, and will not publish the name of the school.
In an email, @XXXXXXX says they will not let parents opt out their children from the mask rule. School Board member Rosanne Wood, who has COVID, said this is where @GovRonDeSantis sends his kids to school. Still trying to verify that."
But don’t blame Goni-Lessan for wanting to post a clickbait tweet without verification, School Board member Wood, a registered Democrat in that county, who was too eager to post information about DeSantis on her Facebook page that could be perceived as damaging or embarrassing.
But it appears that the only one with about a dozen eggs crushed on her face is Woods.
Wood has now updated her initial Facebook post, stating that she was given misinformation and that DeSantis’s kids were not enrolled at the school in question.
“I just got word through the listserv at XXXXXXX - has rescinded their opt-out policy and is requiring masks of all people on campus for the beginning of school. Wise decision! Safety first. UPDATE: I have been told that I was misinformed and that Ron DeSantis's children are not enrolled. I apologize for spreading misinformation,” stated Wood.
Embarrassing.
State Senator Shevrin Jones (D) believes that targeting DeSantis's kids is "off-limits."
Here’s what’s off limits in politics - families and children. If your problem is with @GovRonDeSantis policies, deal with him, and leave his kids out of it.
