DeSantis will Target School Board Candidates who Support Critical Race Theory

Appearing on the first episode of Dan Bongino’s “Unfiltered” TV show on the Fox News channel this past Saturday night, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis reiterated his opposition to the controversial and “divisive” Critical Race Theory, the education concept that he believes should not be taught to children and should not be promoted by their local school board.

Gov. DeSantis says that the upcoming June 10 meeting of the Florida Department of Education in Jacksonville will target school boards like Broward County School Board that are actively trying to indoctrinate children with Critical Race Theory and any “departure from accurate history.”

"This is something we've got to stay on the forefront,” said DeSantis. “Were not going to support any Republican candidate for school board who supports critical race theory and all 67 counties or who supports mandatory masking of school children,” adding he is “going to get the Florida political apparatus involved so we can make sure there's not a single school board Republican whoever indulges critical race theory.”

During a recent bill signing in Miami, Gov. DeSantis told announced that he would be looking to the Republican-led Florida legislature to file legislation to defund critical race theory at both the state and local levels.

“We’re going to be bringing it out in front of the State Board of Education. We’re not putting any tax dollars to allow critical race theory,” asserted Gov. DeSantis.

The Broward County School Board is actively pushing Critical Race Theory on their website and openly glorifying Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam, and promoting the defunding police demonization of law enforcement.

DeSantis, who has labeled Critical Race Theory as a hate-driven and “an identity politics version of Marxism, reiterated his opposition to the “woke” education initiative, says that the Black race-based education philosophy is “not appropriate for schools” because it “is based on historical falsehoods.”
