New Poll: 73% of Republicans Want Trump to Run in 2024

Share

Even before the 2022 election cycle fully kicks in, Americans are excited about 2024 and who will be running for president on the GOP ticket.  While many Republicans have been excited for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), the third run from former President Trump (R) keeps looking promising as DeSantis plays down his chances at a 2024 bid, and as a new poll shows that 73% of Republicans want Trump to run again.

Even though DeSantis has turned down the assertion that he could be running for president, many GOP voters want him to be Trump's Vice Presidential pick and the numbers show it could be smart for the former President if he decides to run.  President Trump has also excited his base once again recently announcing a series of rallies, which is not usually done by a one-term former president.

John McLaughlin, a pollster who Donald Trump called "highly respected," reported in his recent study that 73% of Republicans want Trump to run again in 2024.

His poll also indicates that Republicans would vastly favor him in a hypothetical primary, by a landslide margin of 82%.

The former President appeared confident in his latest press release, signaling a 2024 run keeps looking more likely as time goes by stating:

"What WaPo and other members of the Fake News Media don’t report is that Joe Biden is of no interest to anybody—21 million less people watched his Joint Address to Congress than watched mine."

The president also took some shots at the media in his recent press release, blaming Biden for their subpar ratings and even suggesting "They should have embraced and endorsed “Trump”—their ratings would have been at new highs!"

President Trump has been releasing press releases in order to battle his suspension from various media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.  The president signaled at the end of his statement that the current MAGA website is merely a "temporary," means of communicating and we should stay tuned to see what is next.
