Democrats gear up Obamacare fight in federal court

With the Trump administration going to court this week in New Orleans to overturn the Affordable Care Act, or “Obamacare” as it is also known, freshman Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D) says the House Democrats are pushing back.

According to Mucarsel-Powell, if the law is overturned, some 1.6 million Floridians “could” lose their healthcare coverage and that 300 thousand of her constituents could lose their pre-existing condition protections.

“.@HouseDemocrats are fighting the President’s sabotage on our health care system with several major pieces of legislation to enact protections for pre-existing conditions & lower health care costs, stated Mucarsel-Powell

All Democrats appear to be gearing up for a big fight, including Sen. Dick Durbin who recently noted that “Oral arguments in the GOP lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act are expected to begin on Tuesday—and health care coverage for millions of people across America hangs in the balance.”

Because Republicans could not muster up an effective argument to counter Democrats on healthcare, Democrats won back the House of Representatives in 2018.

Democrats are once again building up their healthcare campaign against and President Trump and House Republicans.
