When it comes to supporting finding a pathway to citizenship for DACA kids and the parents, no one on the Republican side of the aisle in congress is more supportive than Senator Marco Rubio and Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Carlos Curbelo.
But according to Rep. Curbelo, pro-DACA organizations like United We Dream are doing "so much damage to the #Dreamer cause" with their "destructive conduct."
The group recently showed up to Curbelo's office to protest and later tweet that he had turned his "back on his community" because he voted for a spending bill that didn't include DACA language.
".@RepCurbelo has decided to turn his back on his community and vote on a spending bill that does not contain a #DreamActNow Florida Leaders are here calling you out - your actions do not show you stand with us."
The same group attempted a sit-in protest at Senator Rubio's Washington office in December 2017, but were quickly removed by Capitol Police. At the time, Rubio said that he would support the bipartisan DACA measure proposed by Senators Lindsay Graham (R) and Dick Durbin (D).
This group does so much damage to the #Dreamer cause. They make it a priority to attack those who support them the most. Despite their destructive conduct we will not stop working until we find a permanent solution for young immigrants brought to our country as children. #DACA https://t.co/V7z7CjVFre
