With tensions between the U.S. and Iran being so high after the recent attacks against commercial shipping vessels by that nation’s military elements, a group of U.S. Senators are urging President Trump to increase the pressure on the Iranians.
Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) just got a bipartisan boost of support for his BLAST Act, a bill he introduced back in March with Sen. Mike Braun that would permanently ban former members of Congress from “cashing in and becoming lobbyists.”
Trump and Netanyahu appeared together in a press conference where the two men exchanged niceties, and spoke about Trump’s executive edict to recognize Golan as Israeli territory.
By calling for a vote on the bill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell forced Democrats to go on the record on this issue.
"Congress should pass this commonsense measure to use seized drug money to staunch the flow of drugs and violence into our communities.”
The Senate voted 83-16, and the House voted 300-128.
Democrats lost that battle, but will Trump get his entire wall funded?
