State Senator Joe Gruters (R), who is also serving as the Chairman of the Florida Republican Party, and Florida Republicans are cheering today as the Chairman’s legislation regarding the 2nd Amendment passed the Senate this Tuesday.

Gun owners in Florida just got another boost of support after the Community Affairs Committee in the Florida Senate voted in favor of passing State Senator Ray Rodrigues’ “Preemption of Firearms and Ammunition Regulation” (SB 1884).

The bill passed with some Republican support, and now commentators are questioning whether or not this could spell trouble by having those Republicans will face primary challengers when they’re up for reelection.

Today, the House voted on H.R.8, a bill that Florida Rep. Brian Mast (R) calls “a political game” that both Republicans and Democrats like to play on Washington.

Tension continues to rise in the race to replace Florida Rep. Francis Rooney (R) in Florida’s 19th Congressional district as Republicans have turned on each other in the hopes of coming out on top as the Republican nominee.
