A new N+ Univision/YouGov poll shows Congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds (R-FL) with an 8-point lead over Democratic challenger David Jolly despite being down with Latino voters heading into the November election.

Donalds: 50%

Jolly: 42%

However, the poll sours on Rep. Donalds by five points (48% to 43%) with Latino voters, and federal immigration enforcement by the Trump administration might have something to do with it. Among Latinos, 55% say the enforcement has gone too far - combined with 32% through border security and 23% calling it overstated.

56% of Puerto Rican and South American voters also agree, with Cuban voters at 54%. Among all voters, 79% of Florida Democrats say it's gone too far compared to 15% of Republicans and 44% of independents.

The statewide number is 44%.

President Trump is also viewed more unfavorably than favorably with Latino voters (54% to 38%) and statewide voters (50%% to 44%). Trump, who endorsed Donalds in the race, has made deportations a priority under U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in his second term.

But not all Latinos are behind Jolly.

Among Cubans, Donalds holds a 9-point edge (51% to 42%) - a lead contributed possibly by his message against communism and socialism to the country's exile community in South Florida. Donalds appeared at an event in Little Havana arguing against both ideologies last week.

On the other hand, Jolly is substantially ahead among Puerto Rican voters (51% to 35%) while slightly ahead with South American voters (47% to 44%).

The poll also found the GOP with a 51% to 42% overall lead in the U.S. Senate special election race between Republican Ashley Moody and Democrat Angie Nixon. Latino voters were slightly in favor of Democrats 45% to 44%.

Similar to Donalds, Republicans hold a 52% to 41% edge among Cuban voters in the Senate contest, while Democrats lead 50% to 36% with Puerto Rican voters. The GOP held higher support among South American voters, although the amount was not provided.

In addition, Latinos favor Democrats by four points (48% to 44%) on the U.S House ballot. But like Donalds and the Senate Race, Cuban voters favor Republicans (51% to 43%), while Puerto Rican voters favor Democrats (54% to 36%).

South American voters are also in favor of Republicans, despite the amount being unknown.

The general election is Nov. 3.
