The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) pushed back against House Democrats’ recent effort to impeach President Donald Trump, alerting the public to the Democrats’ agenda ahead of the 2026 Midterms, including Congressional candidate Pia Dandiya.
“This is Pia Dandiya's and Democrats' full agenda: Impeachment, Obstruction, Socialism, Repeat. Give Dandiya and Democrats power, and they will put the American people through a never-ending doom cycle of political theater,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O'Toole.
House Votes To Table Impeachment Resolution
House lawmakers voted on an impeachment resolution brought forth by Texas Democratic Congressman Al Green. The resolution accused President Trump of abusing his powers by launching an immigration crackdown that led to the deaths of several civilians over its course.
In a 232-147 vote, the House approved a Republican measure to shelve the resolution. Among the majority, several Democrats, including Reps. Kathy Castor (Fla.) and Jared Moskowitz (Fla.) crossed party lines to table the effort.
Is Dandiya a Centrist or More Progressive?
“Pro-America Democrat” Dandiya is currently running in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District (FL CD 22) as a centrist Democrat. The Democratic challenger is facing off against businessman Casey Askar in the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election.
Despite running as a moderate Democrat, recent reporting indicates that Dandiya’s policy positions and endorsements show a “deep and underlying progressive, Socialist lean.”
Dandiya’s support for “Universal Pre-K” – a policy platform backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) – and endorsements from organizations “that play in the muddy puddle of identity politics” has drawn scrutiny from some.
AOC Says She's Open To Help Dandiya Campaign
Additionally, Progressive Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) (D-NY) recently spoke with The Floridian, sharing her openness to campaign in Florida for senatorial candidates Angie Nixon and Dandiya.
“I'm always open to wherever people want me to be there, so I look forward to being back in Florida soon,” Rep. AOC told publisher Javier Manjarres following House votes.
