WASHINGTON,D.C.— Progressive Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) may be heading down to Florida to campaign for fellow Progressives like U.S. Senatorial candidate Angie Nixon, and Democratic congressional nominee Pia Dandiya.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has recently endorsed Nixon in her 2026 senatorial race.
During an interview with The Floridian shortly after votes this week, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez called Republicans “desperate” and “trying to dig a new low” in their ongoing attacks against Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) senatorial candidate Nixon.
“We need to be talking about healthcare and wages and they want to be swinging a lot of racially ,wrong and bigoted things back and forth because they want us talking about that,” said Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.
When asked if she would travel to Florida and campaign for Nixon and Dandiya, Ocasio-Cortez said,” I look forward to being back in Florida soonb.”
The Floridian: Do you see yourself campaigning in Florida in other states like that or Angie maybe even Pia Dandiya, who's considered the AOC of Florida?
AOC: Yeah, I mean, we'll see. I'm always open to to wherever people want me to be there, so I look forward to being back in Florida soon.”
“Whenever people say someone is the AOC of somewhere else, i always say they're the first them,” added Ocasio-Cortez. “You know, like Angie Nixon is a history maker in her own right and deserves to stand in her name in her own right.”
Nixon will face Senator Ashley Moody in the November 3 General election. Dandiya will face off against U.S. Marine Veteran and businessman Casey Askar.
