Former Democratic State Sen. Annette Taddeo fired back at Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia for "acting tough" following an ad touting his politically incorrect approach to public service was released earlier this week in his bid for a full term.
"Look at Blaise pretending to be tough. Dude, I cuss in English and Espanol. I eat meat and love bacon. Who gives a s***?" Taddeo said. "Florida doesn't need a CFO who brags about eating meat, while most Floridians can't even afford eggs."
Taddeo's remark comes after CFO Ingoglia emphasized he spoke English, profanity, sarcasm, and real s*** and ate bacon in his "Unapologetic" digital ad spot. Ingoglia also said he says Merry Christmas and God Bless America.
"None of that will lower your effing insurance," Taddeo said. "Because while Blaise is bragging about being fluent in profanity, I know a language he doesn't speak: financial accountability."
Taddeo went on to accuse CFO Ingoglia several times for mishandling his job. Ingoglia became CFO after being appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in July 2025.
"He's out there acting tough, while 342 million in contracts got hidden from the database he's legally required to maintain as CFO while his donor pocketed 537 million no big deals, then wrote his pack a $100,000 check, while 1.2 billion from Florida's emergency fund went to Alligator Alcatraz," Taddeo said.
"That's not tough. That's corrupt," Taddeo added. "Florida needs a CFO who guards your money and tells you where it went."
The state's fiscal watchdog, Ingoglia has uncovered $3.7 billion in excessive and wasting spending by counties and municipalities through his Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight (FAFO) during his tenure. Ingoglia has also awarded millions of millions of dollars to boost the state's immigration enforcement and fire departments, as well as arrested individuals accused in hundreds of thousands in fraudulent insurance claims.
Taddeo is in a Democratic primary for CFO against Earle Ford. Ingoglia is in a Republican primary with Frank Collige.
The primary is Aug. 18, with the general election on Nov. 3.
