Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia recently released a campaign ad highlighting his work as the state's fiscal watchdog in his bid for a full term in office this November. Ingoglia became CFO after being appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in July 2025.
The "Watchdog" ad leads with Gov. Ron DeSantis praising CFO Ingoglia as the most "conservative senator in the state of Florida" following his appointment. Ingoglia was a State Senator from 2022 to 2025 prior to taking over the role.
"Blaise Ingoglia, locking up illegals who steal your tax dollars, imposing record fines on insurance companies, and taking on corrupt politicians in both parties who waste your tax dollars," the 30-second spot states.
As the state's fiscal watchdog, CFO Ingoglia has uncovered$3.7 billion in excessive and wasting spending by counties and municipalities through his Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight (FAFO) in one year alone. The initiative has included audits of Palm Beach County, Broward County, Miami-Dade County, Hillsborough County, Orange County, Alachua County, Seminole County during that period.
"When I became CFO, I promised to be an outspoken advocate for the taxpayers, and we’ve delivered," Ingoglia said. "In this past year, we have redefined the role of the office, strengthened government accountability, called out wasteful local government spending that has caused property taxes to skyrocket, and delivered results for Floridians. Our work is far from over, and my office will continue to keep our foot on the gas when it comes to advancing Florida’s fiscal future.”
In addition, Ingoglia has awarded millions of dollars to boost the state's immigration enforcement and fire departments. The CFO also serves as Florida's Fire Marshal.
He has also led arrests of individuals accused in hundreds of thousands in fraudulent insurance claims, including one just this month.
Ingoglia is in a Republican primary with Frank Collige. Annette Tadeo and Earle Ford are running on the Democratic ticket.
The primary is Aug. 18, with the general election on Nov. 3.
