Former Trump Administration official Catalina Lauf fiercely criticized former Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) for hosting a meet-and-greet event on Memorial Day in a social media post.

Both Lauf and former Rep. Cawthorn are competing in the Republican primary for Florida's 19th congressional district, which Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) is leaving to run for Governor.

And clearly, it's getting ugly.

"Madison Cawthorn, you are a disgrace. You are not the story on Memorial Day. America's fallen are," Lauf began, adding, "Who the hell hosts a meet and greet on Memorial Day? Madison Cawthorn does, because he believes the world revolves around him. Not to mention, today at a Memorial Day event, he showed up 15 min before it was over just so he could get a photo opp."

Lauf further pointed out that Cawthorn had never served in the Armed Forces, telling him, "You have never led men into battle. You have never watched a brother die in service to their country. My husband, a combat veteran has. Thousands of American families have."

"Go sit with a 100-year-old World War II veteran who still remembers watching his friends get gunned down on Omaha Beach. Go sit with a SOF widow raising a six-month-old baby after her husband was killed. Go watch a warrior attend a funeral of their fallen brother," she concluded. "Then maybe you'll understand that Memorial Day is not a stage for self-promotion or political theatrics. It is a sacred day of mourning for heroes. Your ego-driven behavior is beneath the dignity of the memory of the men who died for this country. Yet... are we surprised?"

The crowded field of Republican primary contenders for the 19th congressional district are competing fiercely for the coveted endorsement of President Donald Trump, but so far, nobody has a lead in the polls, with everyone currently in the single digits according to a leaked internal poll from one of the campaigns.

However, speculation suggests that Ola Hawatmeh might have an insider advantage in getting Trump's seal of approval due to her closer proximity to his orbit.

That, and she is promising to rename the I-75 southern corridor the "President Donald J. Trump Superhighway."

Other candidates in the race are former Rep. Chris Collins, media mogul Jim Schwartzel, John Strand, and former U.S. Marine Corps Naval Flight Officer Mike Pedersen
