Friends of Byron Donalds, a PAC for Congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds (R-FL), released a digital ad highlighting Rep. Donalds' support among Florida sheriffs and his commitment to law and order and fighting illegal immigration this week.
The ad, titled "Trusted by Sheriffs," is part of a seven-figure buy targeting voters in Rep. Donalds' gubernatorial run.
Sheriffs in the ad include Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco, and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
Their support from the PAC's release is below:
“Byron knows families want to be safe,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey said.
“He is tough, he is smart, and he does not back down,” Sheriff Steve Whidden said.
“As Governor, he is going to make sure we are all safe,” Sheriff Chris Nocco said.
[Donalds] will keep criminals in jail," Sheriff Grady Judd said.
Other sheriffs supporting Rep. Donalds include Duval County Sheriff T.K. Waters, Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons, and Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith. Over 30 sheriffs have announced their support for the gubernatorial hopeful.
Along with the sheriffs, Rep. Donalds earned the backing of President Trump last year.
“Byron Donalds is endorsed by President Trump and backed by sheriffs because he is an America First conservative who will protect Florida from dangerous criminals and illegal immigrants," Friends of Byron Donalds PAC Chairman Ryan Smith said. "As Florida’s next governor, Byron Donalds will Back the Blue, help the Trump Administration deport illegals, keep criminals behind bars, and work with our sheriffs to ensure Florida is the safest state in America.”
Donalds is in a Republican primary with Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, former House Speaker Paul Renner, and businessman James Fishback for the nomination. The GOP primary is Aug. 18.
"As your next governor, I will continue to back the blue," Donalds says in the ad. "Law enforcement will continue to be honored and respected in Florida. We will continue to lock up criminals, and we will continue to work with President Trump and his administration to remove illegal aliens from Florida."
A previous ad from the PAC, "Free State," was released earlier this month.
