KPMG Florida, a major accounting firm providing audit and tax services to businesses worldwide, announced last week that it received a national Gold Award from the Brandon Hall Group for its training and learning work with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) during disaster response operations.
According to a release, the Gold Award specifically recognizes KPGM and FDEM for helping develop training supporting state workers during major natural disasters in the state over the past several years. Florida was hit by several major Hurricanes over that time, including Milton and Helene in 2024.
“This work reflects the dedication of everyone involved," KPMG US Partner Anthony Monaco said in a statement. "The KPMG Florida team worked side by side with FDEM to build this program and support Floridians recovering from major storms.”
The Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards are given to organizations in recognition of outstanding achievement in Human Capital Management, and reflect a long-term partnership built on "clear communication, practical learning tools, and a shared goal of strengthening emergency response capabilities across the state."
