Rep. Meg Weinberger (R-Palm Beach Gardens) is slamming California Gov. Gavin Newsom after an illegal alien truck driver with a California commercial driver's license was accused of making an illegal U-turn that killed three people on Florida's Turnpike in St. Lucie County last week.

"Three Floridians are dead because Gavin Newsom’s California put a commercial driver’s license in the hands of a criminal illegal alien," Weinberger said. "This was not chance, it was the export of death from a sanctuary state that has chosen lawlessness over safety."

According to multiple reports, Harjinder Singh attempted an illegal U-turn in his semi-truck at an unauthorized location near Fort Pierce. The subsequent turn caused a collision with a Chrysler minivan, which was crushed beneath the trailer.

Two of the minivan's passengers died at the scene from their injuries. The driver of the car was airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he also died.

Rep. Weinberger also ripped Newsom over the incident in a post on MxM News. In addition, the White House's official rapid response account, Rapid Response 47, called out the Newsom administration for admitting that Singh obtained a California driver's license.

Singh entered the U.S. illegally in 2018. He later obtained his commercial driver's license (CDL) from California, which, under their laws, allows illegal aliens to obtain a CDL.

"California’s radical policies are not contained within its borders; they send danger onto highways across America," Weinberger said. "And now, with families shattered in Florida, Newsom insults their grief by claiming his scheme makes people safer."

"That is disgusting. California Democrats chose illegals over Americans. Florida will never accept this madness," Weinberger continued. "We will defend our people, and we will stop California’s deadly ideology at our state line."

Singh has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and could face up to 45 years in prison if convicted of the crimes.
