Hurricane Ian is hitting Southwest Florida, and while Democratic gubernatorial nominee Charlie Crist is fundraising as the storm impacts Florida, First Lady Casey DeSantis has announced the activation of the Florida Disaster Fund.
The Fund is the state's official private fundraising mechanism set up to help Florida communities "respond to and recover from times of emergency or disaster."

We greatly appreciate the kindness and generosity of organizations and individuals from across the country looking to support Floridians, thank you.”

Hurricane Ian has come ashore as a Category 4 storm and is expected to produce a deadly storm surge of 8-15 feet in some places along the west coast of the state.
