U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) endorsed Democratic candidate David Jolly for governor in a video posted to X over the weekend.
"Florida, it is time for a change," Sen. Booker said in the video. "Costs are going up and corruption is making your life more expensive."
Sen. Booker was the first black member elected to represent New Jersey in the U.S. Senate. He also previously served as the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, and is known for leading the longest speech on the floor in Senate history in 2025, speaking for over 25 hours.
The speech was in protest of President Donald Trump's second presidency, the Republican budget, and the Department of Government Efficiency under Elon Musk.
"If you're fed up, your vote is your voice," Booker said in the endorsement video. "My friend, David Jolly, has a real plan to lower your housing costs and lower your insurance. He will stand up to those corrupt forces that are hurting people and families in Florida."
David Jolly responded to the endorsement in an X post.
"Senator Cory Booker knows what’s at stake in this election. Floridians are tired of rising costs, political corruption, and leaders who put powerful interests ahead of working families. I’m honored to have Senator Booker’s endorsement as we fight to bring real change to Florida. It’s time to believe in better," he wrote in the caption.

The latest polls show a governor's race some say is too close to call, with Jolly and Republican candidate Byron Donalds within a few percentage points of each other in the polls.
