Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) announced a new project set to lay the groundwork for Congress to “reinvigorate the American Dream” amid the ongoing affordability crisis.

Sen. Scott’s “Rescuing America” project will include speeches, videos, and a presentation outlining a path to ensure current and future generations will have great opportunities to live, work, and start a family.

The Economy is Different, Scott Argues

“I put together a project with one goal: to be honest with the American public about how our economy has drastically changed, how the American Dream is out of reach for so many, and most importantly - how we can fix it,” the Florida Republican said in a video posted to X.

“The generation coming of age today has inherited Washington’s failures and are paying for them every day,” Sen. Scott affirmed, arguing that they can’t afford starter homes or the ability to start a family.

"Rescuing America" From Socialism

The “Rescuing America” project also comes amid growing support for Socialism in the U.S., as seen with the growing popularity of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Sen. Scott plans to counter this rise in support for the ideology through the project, warning that if Congress doesn’t work to improve the current state, then the U.S. could fall down the path.

“We must be clear that socialism isn’t the answer. It will kill the American Dream,” Sen. Scott asserted. “More young Americans are following socialists like Zohran Mamdani because the status quo has failed and they’re desperate for change.”

“Socialism will destroy America if we let it take root. If we don’t act now, the American Dream will not exist for young people today, our kids, or our grandkids,” Sen. Scott said.

With less than two months until the 2026 Midterm elections, Sen. Scott’s messaging comes during a contentious battle with Democrats for control of Congress, as well as the possibility of DSA members growing in number within the Capitol.
