Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday while speaking at a press conference at the Tenoroc Shooting Range in Lakeland this week.
The holiday began on Sept. 1 and will run through Dec. 31.
"Florida will suspend the collection of sales tax on firearms, ammunition, a wide range of hunting, fishing, and camping equipment. This includes bows and crossbows, as well as accessories, different types of firearms, rifles, pistols, shotguns, accessories, holsters, grips, sight, stocks, and cleaning kits," DeSantis said.Â
The holiday also includes tax-free items on fishing and camping supplies including tents, sleeping bags, camping stoves, lanterns, fishing rods, reels, tackles, and other outdoor equipment.Â
Florida had its inaugural Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday last year.
Gov. DeSantis noted this year's holiday doubles the eligible price thresholds for fishing, bait, and tackle for individual items up $10 from last year and multiple items sold together up to 20 for the full exemption.Â
Notably, last year's holiday brought $50 million in tax relief for Florida's hunters, anglers, and sportsmen.
"This year's holidays [are] expected to provide Florida's hunters, anglers, and sportsmen with tens of millions of dollars in tax relief. And so, combined with last year, you could end up with $100 million in tax relief just on our Second Amendment tax holidays," DeSantis said.

Gov. DeSantis also announced the launch of state's new archery center at Tenorac.
"Tenerock has been an important part of Florida's network of public shooting sports ranges, serving both the public and hunter safety students," DeSantis said. "The facility currently offers supervised rifle and handgun ranges, sporting clays, five stand and trap, as well as air rifle and archery ranges. The new Florida Archery Center will expand these existing offerings while providing more opportunities for Floridians to enjoy shooting sports and safely and responsibly exercise their rights."
Chief Conservation Officer George Warthen thanked DeSantis for the holiday.
"This tax holiday once again provides those families the opportunity to purchase equipment at a discounted rate, saving money on taxes, so that they continue to get outdoors and enjoy this beautiful state," Warthen said. "So, thank you once again, governor, for your commitment to those families, to wildlife conservation in Florida, and our outdoors men and women across this great state."
