Former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer (R) has received the endorsement of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) in his bid to represent Florida's redrawn 25th Congressional District.

"Scott Singer is exactly the kind of proven conservative leader we need fighting alongside us in Congress," said Rep. Scalise in a statement. "As mayor of Boca Raton, Scott has built a strong record of delivering results, keeping taxes low, standing with law enforcement, and defending the values that make South Florida strong."
Rep. Scalise further lauded Singer as a personal friend, saying, "I've gotten to know Scott over the years, and I know he has the work ethic, conservative backbone, and America First principles needed to win this race and help grow our Republican majority. At a time when our country needs strong leaders who will secure the border, strengthen our economy, and stand up for hardworking families, Scott Singer is ready to answer the call. I'm proud to endorse my friend Scott Singer for Congress."

In Congress, I look forward to working alongside him to advance conservative priorities and deliver the results South Florida families deserve."
A Gamechanger?
The endorsement from Scalise comes just in time for Singer, as a recent poll suggested Dan Franzese, who is competing with Singer in the Republican primary, has overtaken him in favorability among voters.
Singer's poll numbers dropped from May to June, and his favorability rating souring due to perceptions of being "not MAGA," "a liar," and "two-faced."
President Donald Trump has not yet given his coveted blessing to either candidate, but whichever man receives it would all but cement their status as the Republican nominee.
The primary will be held on August 18th.
