Incumbent Congressman Cory Mills and Former TV Anchor Ryan Elijah’s ongoing feud remains front and center as the two go at it on social media over the alleged Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into the incumbent Representative.
Following the ‘Boogie Woogie’ FL CD 7 Republican Primary Debate in New Smyrna Beach, Elijah began posting several clips of the showdown, including segments in which the former Orlando Matters host pressed Mills over the DOJ probe, an alleged active restraining order, and the two-term incumbent’s relationship with current gubernatorial candidate Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.).
"Mills' Selfishness" Is "Impacting" Donalds' Race
In his latest post, Elijah argued that Mills is doing Rep. Donalds a disservice by “impacting” the gubernatorial runner “with his political baggage.”
“Mills' selfishness to not acknowledge his wide range of problems and investigations is hurting many people in the Republican Party,” Elijah wrote, citing Sen. Rick Scott’s claims that Mills "shouldn’t be in office."

Congressman Mills fired back at Elijah, writing: “If you think lies, slander, unsubstantiated accusations, and attacks on [a] Trump-endorsed combat Veteran is good for your campaign let’s see how that works out when you’ve never served or put your life at risk to save those in trouble.”
Elijah Asks For Mills' Exoneration Letter
The Sanford Republican responded by questioning Mills on why he brings up President Donald Trump to address his personal issues. Elijah also took the time to ask Mills whether he received an exoneration letter from the DOJ – a point the former TV anchor had repeatedly asked during the debate.
“Where’s your proof of investigation? Media reports of anonymous source?” Rep. Mills asked, telling Elijah that he’s beginning to sound like gubernatorial challenger James Fishback.
Will Mills Remain In Office?
The DOJ investigation has been a focal point for Elijah in the weeks leading up to the Primary. Elijah had previously urged Mills to drop out of the race after reports of the probe were announced just four weeks before the race.
Has Mills lost the district’s trust? Will the seat be flipped? Or will Mills be replaced by a new face?
