Congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds (R-FL) recently shared that he has been endorsed by U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL).

"@AshleyMoodyFL is a dedicated public servant for our state and unwavering champion of freedom," Donalds wrote on social media. "She knows what it takes to stand up to the radical left and deliver real results for Florida. I'm grateful for her support and look forward to working together to keep Florida the gold standard for common sense conservatism."

Sen. Moody's endorsement follows several for Rep. Donalds in his bid for governor. Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia, Florida Agricultural Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, and Senate President-Designate Jim Boyd (R-Bradenton) and House Speaker-Designate Sam Garrison (R-Fleming Island) also endorsed Donalds this month.

The trend might not be a coincidence, as Rep. Donalds comes off his appearance at the Florida Republican Party's (RPOF) Sunshine State Showdown at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood on June 27. With those recent endorsements, Donalds has virtually wrapped up support from the RPOF as he looks to succeed Gov. DeSantis in office in January 2027.

Rep. Donalds also has the endorsement of Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and several Florida Republican congressional representatives, including Laurel Lee, Kat Cammack, Anna Paulina Luna, Randy Fine, and Mike Haridopolos. In addition, Donalds has the support of numerous Florida Republican House and State representatives, including Reps. Meg Weinberger, Berny Jacques, Alex Rizo, Chase Tramont, Tyler Sirios, and Sens. Debbie Mayfield, Gayle Harrell, Ana Maria Rodriguez, Nick DiCeglie, and Erin Grall.

But Donalds' biggest endorsement likely came from President Donald Trump. The president endorsed Donalds in February 2025 and reiterated his support in May, arguably "trumping" all the others at any point throughout his campaign.

However, there is one that Donalds is still missing.

Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The governor has indicated he will not be making an endorsement until after the Republican primary on Aug. 18, which includes candidates Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner, and businessman James Fishback.

And while having Gov. DeSantis' endorsement would be nice, Donalds' broad support, massive fundraising advantage, and lead in credible polling might be all she wrote. At this point, all that's left is the result, with Donalds likely already turning his focus to Democratic candidate David Jolly and the general election on Nov. 3.
