President Donald Trump affirmed that the U.S. will strike Iran “VERY HARD,” additionally threatening to take over the Islamic Republic’s main oil hub, Kharg Island, “in the not too distant future.”

“The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” President Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America,” the president concluded.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, Kharg Island accounts for 90% of Iran’s crude shipments.

Iranian Military Adviser Calls Trump 'Unhinged'

A couple of hours before President Trump’s statements, Mohsen Rezaei, one of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei’s military advisers, called President Trump “unhinged.”

“The unhinged U.S. president imagines that bombs can get him out of the quagmire he himself created,” Rezaei wrote on X, condemning the U.S.’s "proportional response" to the recently downed American Army Apache helicopter.

“But Iranian missiles will sink him even deeper into it,” he warned, adding that “Washington must choose between accepting Iran’s terms and losing the last shred of its credibility in the world.”

Secretary Hegseth Confirms 'Major Strikes' On Iran

"Central Command will be busy tonight because President [Donald J.] Trump said we will be hitting Iran hard, and we will be," Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, confirming U.S. Central Command’s planned “major strikes” on Iran.

"Iran has a chance to make a good deal, a great deal, to codify what they said they've been willing to do — and they haven't been willing to do it."
