In the lead-up to the 2026 U.S. Midterm election, resurfaced images show Republican challenger for Florida’s 25th District (FL CD 25), Scott Singer, alongside a Qatari senior official, which could leave voters questioning his loyalty to Israel’s security.

The resurfaced image shows Singer alongside Qatar’s Minister of Municipality, His Excellency (HE) Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah.

Both Rep. Moskowitz and Singer have strongly professed their support for Israel.

Qatar's Ministry Hosts U.S. Mayors

According to Gulf Times, Al Attiyah hosted five U.S. mayors, including three from Michigan and one from New Mexico, alongside Singer on May 12, 2024, as part of their participation in the Qatar Economic Forum 2024 (QEF).

“During the meeting, they discussed avenues of cooperation between the Ministry of Municipality and the US cities in areas of shared interest,” the outlet wrote, “in addition to means of promoting them between the two sides, particularly smart cities and upgrading infrastructure, municipal services, agriculture, food security and waste management.”

Singer Called Out For His Participation

Political Action Committee (PAC) Citizens for a More Affordable Florida called out the Republican challenger for his participation just 7 months after the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas terror attacks.

“After Oct. 7, you’d expect our leaders to distance themselves from Qatar – not deepen ties with them. Just seven months after Hamas slaughtered Israelis on Oct. 7, Scott Singer traveled to Qatar,” the committee wrote.

Qatar's Ties to Hamas

Since the Arab Spring uprising that began in 2011, Qatar has become Hamas’ most pivotal financial backer and foreign ally.

Qatar has hosted Hamas’ party leadership since 2012 in Doha, after the U.S. requested it provide the group a base to ease communications.

It has also transferred more than $1.8 billion to back governance, fuel, and civil servant salaries in Gaza. According to a Qatari official, Qatar also issued $30 million monthly transfers to the Hamas administration in Gaza in consultation with the U.S. and Israeli governments and with their approval.

Singer's Previous Questionable Ties

Singer’s loyalty to Israel continues to be a point of discussion, as the challenger has also been endorsed by organizations aligned with Florida-designated terrorist organizations.

Scott SingerSinger has denied knowledge of the Emgage endorsement.

"This is the first we’ve heard that Emgage PAC endorsed Scott Singer's past mayoral candidacy. We had to dig it up online to see that they put his name on a press release - the day after he had won his race in 2018 - and without his knowledge. We didn’t know of this endorsement, don’t recall ever having any conversations with them, and Scott did not publicize them on any list of endorsements. We can show you Scott's 2018 materials listing his endorsements. This group was not among them," Singer campaign statement.

After winning his 2018 Primary election for FL CD 23, Muslim American organization Emgage Action’s Florida PAC endorsed Singer.

Emgage Action and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which as recently designated by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a terrorist group, have collaborated frequently.

FL CD 25 Odds

Singer is facing Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) in the race for Florida’s 25th seat.

According to pollsters like Pollsmax and Decision Desk HQ, the race remains a toss-up, with Singer sitting at a 45-51% chance of winning.

However, online trading platform Polymarket and news outlet Votehub have Rep. Moskowitz at a 74% chance of winning re-election in the newly redistricted seat.
