Orange County – A former Florida juvenile probation officer is facing 113 felony charges for allegedly accessing a confidential crime database and leaking the information to individuals linked to criminal investigations.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSC), 32-year-old Crystal Gaynell Ann Lawson improperly accessed the Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS) over 100 times, sharing arrest warrants and other documents from active criminal cases with members of a drug trafficking ring.
Lawson's Role As An Officer
Lawson was hired as a juvenile probation officer for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice in Feb. 2022, which reportedly granted her access to CCIS.
That same year, Lawson was fired after being arrested for battery.
Despite losing her position, OCSC said that Lawson’s access to CCIS was not revoked.
Lawson's Access To CCIS
Between January and May 2026, Lawson allegedly accessed the database 106 times "to search for active criminal cases that involved members of a Drug Trafficking Organization that was under active criminal investigation," the sheriff's office stated.
"These leaks resulted in lost evidence, unrecovered assets, and at least one flight to avoid arrest (that person was ultimately apprehended)," OCSO said in a press release.
OCSO said each count carries a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
If convicted, Lawson would reportedly face a total of 575 years in prison.
