Former Congressman Chris Collins (R) reaffirmed his title as “The Original Trump Conservative” as he aims to secure the nomination in the highly contentious race for Rep. Byron Donald’s (R) 19th Congressional District seat.
In a new ad by Collins for Congress, Collins goes after ‘Never-Trumpers’ Mike Pence, Liz Cheney, and Mitt Romney, calling them “fakes and phonies” as he asserts himself as the "OG."
“He was the first member of Congress to endorse President Trump, voted with him 100%, and when the deep state turned on President Trump, Chris Collins defended him at every turn,” the ad states, citing an article from Politico titled, “Chris Collins digs in against the Trump-haters.”
Approving the message, Collins ensures that he’ll back President Donald Trump as he did in the past once he enters office.
Collins Wants All The Smoke
Collins isn’t holding back this election, as he continues to go after his Republican peers.
In a previous interview with The Floridian, Collins called his congressional primary opponents “a bunch of losers.”
"They know how to lose, I know how to win, and I've got a team that knows how to win. That's the biggest difference," Collins told The Floridian.
Collins' Campaign Mission
Since his campaign launch, the former Representative has run on efforts to secure U.S. borders “once and for all,” set the U.S. economy up for “generations of success,” and defend constitutional freedoms from “radical socialist Democrats.”
“I'm ready to get back in the ring for our President to deliver his agenda for the families of Southwest Florida and future generations,” Collins has stated.
Collins is facing 11 other opponents, including former Illinois State Senator Jim Oberweis, Jim Schwartzel, Stephen Elliot, Dylan Modarelli, Olah Hawatmeh, Catalina Lauf, and John Strand.
Democratic candidates include Martin Kane, Victor Arias, and Howard Sapp.
Florida's contentious primary election will take place on August 18th.
