Scott Singer Says There is 'Reason for Optimism' for GOP Midterm Prospects

Former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer (R), who is running for Florida's 25th congressional district, said the Republican Party has "reason for optimism" with their midterm election prospects in recent comments to Fox News Digital.

The reason why, says Singer, is that "we have a strong economy. The strongest we have had in years, record growth in GDP, inflation before the latest blip, which was temporary because of the Iran conflict."

He suggested voters understand that the Biden Administration allowed inflation to happen, while the second Trump Administration has sought to reverse it by cutting regulations.

"The biggest tax cut in American history is reaching American taxpayers right now with huge refunds going to individuals, and the average refund for 12 million small businesses was $7,000," Singer commented. "And that was done with every Democrat in Congress voting against it. It is the Republicans who are now the party of the middle class."

He emphasized that "if you look at so many objective indicators, and not the panic that some media outlets put out there, things are great. And when you interview voters and ask them about policies, they want to lean more to the right; they support the Republican agenda. That is why I feel very optimistic."

Singer pointed to his own campaign as evidence that voters are siding with Republicans over Democrats. He noted that he has raised $1.3 million in the first fundraising quarter from 4,000 donors.

These donors, Singer says, "are upset with the progress of Congress. They are upset with the current Democratic representation, voting for higher taxes and voting against a secure border, and so many other things."

Singer still has to face off against the other Republican challenger, George Moraitis. While Moraitis might not currently have the money on his side, he does have the endorsements of Representatives Greg Steube (R-FL), Jake Ellzey (R-TX), Mike Haridopolos (R-FL), Scott Franklin (R-FL), and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), along with the endorsements of 20 other current and former local officials to give him a push.
