The Republican Party of Florida has named U.S. Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) as the 2026 "Statesman of the Year," praising the Senator for his "commitment to public service, common-sense conservative leadership and dedication" to Florida.
“Senator Rick Scott has been a tireless advocate for Florida families, a champion for fiscal responsibility, and a leader who consistently delivers results,” Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power said in a statement.“From his service in the Navy, to tenure as Governor, to his work in the United States Senate, he has demonstrated what it means to lead with purpose, principle, and accountability. We are proud to recognize him as our Statesman of the Year.”
Sen. Scott has served as Senator since 2019. He previously served as the governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019.
Scott thanked the Republican Party of Florida for the honor on social media.
The Statesman of the Year award is the highest honor given out by the Florida GOP. The award was given to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in 2025.
Scott will be honored at the Florida GOP 2026 Sunshine State Showdown at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood on June 27, 2026. Other Republican officials expected to be at the event include Congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds (R-FL), U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL), Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia, and more.

Amazing that a person who has no regard for the people of Florida other than to commit fraud on Medicare is honored.
Unbelievable, No DeSantis.
