MIAMI—With the sound of jet planes taking off from Miami International Airport (MIA) just a stones throw away, the Inter Miami CF Herons dropped a couple points to Nashville SC in the Eastern Conference standings with their 1-1 tied at home against the New England Revolution.
The match was played at the newly-constructed Nu Stadium.
Exactly twenty minutes into the match, New England substitutes began to warm up as a result of Miami’s ball possession dominance.
While both Forwards Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi were relatively quiet throughout most of the game, the player that appeared to keep Miami anchored and attacking was Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.

While he did have a couple goal scoring opportunities, Messi seemed a bit off, failing to successfully follow through on several key scoring opportunities build ups.
New England struck first with 56th minutes score by midfielder Carles Gil after the Miami defense breakdown
Miami scored the equalizing goal in the 75th minute when Mexican Forward German Berterame scored off the assist from Suarez, who first received the ball from De Paul
Late in the match, Miami surged in extra time, connecting on several shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net.
Man of the Match
Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, almost single-handily controlled the midfield and assisted in Berterame’s goal, not to mention being part of several other goal scoring opportunities
Miami’s next match will also be at home against Orlando City, who are at the very bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
