While Wrestlemania 42 is one week away, the political world could get some early action, as Hunter Biden has challenged Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. to a “cage match.”
As America prepares to celebrate its 250th year of Independence, the White House will host UFC Freedom 250 on June 14, 2026. The mixed martial arts event will take place on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C.
Whether it’s professional wrestling or mixed martial arts, political aficionados who overlap won’t have to wait long if the Trump sons answer the call.
Hunter Biden, the embattled son of former President Joe Biden, issued the challenge after social media personality Andrew Callaghan told him that he was organizing the match.
In a video shared on Callaghan’s Channel 5 Instagram page, Biden said, “I told him I’d do it – 100% in if he can pull it off. And if he can’t, I’m still coming.”
In professional wrestling, when one wrestler goes up against two or more, it’s considered a handicap match. Will another Biden family member step up to help Biden in the cage?
Wrestling fans will just have to wait and see.
President Donald Trump has long been associated with professional wrestling.
The president was most notably featured in Wrestlemania 23, where he faced off against Vince McMahon in a “Battle of the Billionaires” match. Bobby Lashley and Umaga represented the billionaires, respectively.
The president is also in the WWE Hall of Fame, having been inducted as part of the class of 2013.
Linda McMahon, the business executive known for her work in professional wrestling, has also served in both Trump administrations. She led the Small Business Administration during President Trump’s first time and now serves as the 13th United States secretary of education.
Wrestlers have also successfully transitioned from the squared circle to politics.
Most notably, Jesse Ventura served as the 38th governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003, and Glenn Jacobs, known as “Kane,” became the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, in 2018.
