The Florida House Republican Campaign Committee recently released a campaign mailer slamming Democratic candidate Emily Gregory's immigration positions as "wrong" and "dangerous" while touting GOP candidate Jon Maples as the choice to keep Floridians safe in the special election for House District 87.
"Emily Gregory's agenda isn't just wrong, it's dangerous," the mailer reads. "She's advocating for the ideas that endanger Floridians and continue the left's agenda of lawlessness."

The mailer also calls Gregory a "soft on crime liberal," warning that her policies, if elected, would "threaten our safety and jeopardize our neighborhoods."
The mailer includes an August 2025 social media post in which Gregory thanked organizers of an anti-ICE vigil (Vigil for Children) for advocating for the return of her allegedly "wrongfully" deported babysitter's father and asking for donations to return him to the U.S.
Another mailer attacks Gregory while showing the arrests of six men for serious sex crimes and violent offenses.
"If Emily Gregory were in charge, these criminal alien sexual predators & violent criminals would be on our streets," the mailer reads. It also notes Gregory's anti-ICE attendance to demonstrations, calls to "end deportations," and efforts to raise money for deported illegal immigrants to return to the U.S.

Maples, a career financial planner and former collegiate basketball player, is running against Gregory for the HD 87 seat, which covers parts of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach Shores, North Palm Beach Shores, South Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Juno Beach, Hypoluxo, and Lantana in Palm Beach County.
A supporter of President Donald Trump's "America First" economic agenda, Maples received Trump's endorsement in January. Maples has also been endorsed by Rep. Meg Weinberger (R-Palm Beach Gardens) and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier.
Another mailer highlights Maples as a "tough, committed, conservative" and a supporter of Florida's illegal immigration crackdown, including law enforcement deporting illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes.

The HD 87 special election is on Mar. 24.
