In a release, The Florida Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Republican nominee Jon Maples in his race for Florida House District 87 by emphasizing his commitment to promoting free enterprise as a businessman and community leader.

“While Florida continues its growth and economic momentum, we need strong leadership committed to championing the policies necessary to further Florida’s global competitiveness, job creation, and a vibrant quality of life,” Florida Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Wilson said.

“The Florida Chamber has put forth a strategic plan to make Florida a top ten global economy by 2030, as well as create 1.34 million net new jobs, and we trust Jon Maples will help keep us on a pathway to get there as members of the Florida House," Wilson added.

Maples thanked the chamber for their endorsement.

“It’s an honor to receive the Florida Chamber’s endorsement,” Maples said. “I believe we can continue to grow Florida’s economy and lower costs for families by empowering job creators, cutting taxes, and eliminating regulations that hurt local businesses. I look forward to working with the Florida Chamber as a member of the Florida House!”

A career financial planner and former collegiate basketball player for Palm Beach Atlantic University, Maples is facing Democrat Emily Gregory in the HD 87 special general election on March 24 after cruising to victory in the GOP primary.

HD 87 covers parts of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach Shores, North Palm Beach Shores, South Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Juno Beach, Hypoluxo, and Lantana in Palm Beach County.

Maples also has the endorsement of President Donald Trump, Rep. Meg Weinberger (R-Palm Beach Gardens), and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier.

The victor will replace Republican Michael "Mike" Caruso, who resigned from the seat after being appointed Palm Beach County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller by Gov. Ron DeSantis last August.
