Florida Lawmakers are calling for the resignation of Miami Republican Executive Committee Secretary Abel Alexander Carvajal over a group chat he created and managed that referenced the N-word over 200 times, propagated antisemitism, and called for the killing of "N*ggers."
In response to The Floridian story that reported on the controversial group chat, the Florida Senate Office penned a joint statement of condemnation by three Miami-Dade Florida State Senators, where they called for Miami GOP Secretary Carvajal's immediate resignation.
The Senators
The three State Senator s were Ana Maria Rodriguez, Ileana Garcia, and Alexis Calatayud.
"Antisemitism and racism have no place in our society. We strongly condemn and find despicable the vile and unacceptable language that has been discovered in a group chat associated with the Miami Dade Republican Party’s Secretary. The statements made by those individuals clarify their moral and intellectual corruption and demonstrate a complete misalignment with core shared American values," stated the senators.
The senators continued, saying that they were going to hold the individuals on the chat that were connected to the Republican Party "accountable" and called for the "resignation of the Secretary.
"We will hold them accountable, immediately. We call for the resignation of the Secretary, immediately. We call for the immediate expulsion of the individuals disseminating from any level of leadership of the Miami-Dade Republican Party. We are a party that empowers every individual to express their highest potential. We will not tolerate bigotry or discrimination," they added.

Rep. Juan Porras
The call for Carvajal's resignation comes hours after state committeeman and Rep. Juan Porras, called for Carvajals resignation.
“Hatred toward Jewish Americans, racist rhetoric, calls for violence, all these ideas have no place in our party, our state, or our country,” state Rep. Porras said in a statement. “The Republican Party stands for law, order and respect for every American. We believe in the dignity of every person. We reject Antisemitism. We reject racism. We reject violence.”
Porras added: "Leadership carries responsibility. When someone in a leadership role engages in this kind of behavior, it damages the trust placed in our party by voters across Florida...For that reason, I am asking the Miami Dade Republican Party Secretary to step down from this position.”
To the call for resignation continued.
Chairman Kevin Cooper
Chairman of the Miami Republican Party Kevin Cooper responded to The Floridian's second request for comment, and called for Carvajal's resignation.
"For the good of the party and the diverse community we represent, he should resign immediately," stated Cooper.
Here is Cooper's entire statement:
"The Republican Party has always been a big tent—the party that fought to end slavery, the party that welcomed Cuban refugees fleeing communism to freedom in Miami, and the party that continues to welcome Americans of every race, faith, gender, and nationality who believe in liberty and opportunity.
Our movement is built by people from every background, and Americans who have moved to Florida from states like New York and California seeking the freedom our state represents.
The racist, antisemitic, and misogynistic language reportedly used in private group chat by the secretary of the party is reprehensible and completely inconsistent with the values of the Republican Party of Miami-Dade County.
Racism, antisemitism, and hatred of any kind have no place in our party, our community, or our country, and the language that has been revealed falls far below the standard expected of anyone in a leadership role.
For the good of the party and the diverse community we represent, he should resign immediately. The Republican Party of Miami-Dade County will continue to stand for freedom, dignity, and opportunity for all, and we will not allow the actions of any individual to undermine those principles."
