With the world still reeling from the recent assassination of Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei and most of the senior leadership in a joint United States-Israel operation, Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) clarified that there will be no "boots on the ground" during an appearance on MS NOW's The Weekend.

In a clip from the interview shared on social media, Rep. Luna argued that "this admin is NOT putting boots on the ground. Period. Iran not only attempted to assassinate POTUS, and [sic] he was STILL willing to negotiate."

"It is not the intent, or the position, or the directive of this administration to put boots on the ground in Iran as a result of these strikes," Rep. Luna commented, adding that the attack was "due to intelligence that was picked up on two fronts," which were alleged active threats against American military assets and "negotiations not being done in good faith."

However, anonymous sources within the White House recently stated that Iran was not planning a preemptive attack on the United States, but "acknowledged there was a more general threat in the region from Iran’s missiles and proxy forces."

Luna further suggested during her MS NOW appearance that "these strikes that you are seeing now currently taking place are actually a result of a kill switch, if you will, plan that was put in place by the former leadership in Iran to basically ensure that there would be the most civilian damage if their leadership was taken out. That was called the Nazir Plan."

The existence of the "Nazir Plan," however, cannot currently be verified, but a similarly-named "Kavir Plan" uncovered by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) detailed Iran's efforts to acquire nuclear weapons.

Luna reiterated the White House's stance that "it will be up to the Iranian people to decide to build up their own infrastructure," meaning the United States will not engage in regime change.
