Representative Randy Fine (R-FL) claimed that the lenient stance of Democrats on illegal immigration is in pursuit of political power in a recent interview with The Floridian.
Rep. Fine began by referencing the ongoing Minnesota welfare fraud scandal perpetrated primarily by Somali migrants, noting that "80% of Somalians [are] on some form of government assistance," a citation confirmed by the Center for Immigration Studies.
As a result, he said that illegal immigration needs to be stopped, and "that is why you see a lot of the resistance in Minneapolis."
In addition, Rep. Fine asserted that the percentage of "Somalians married to their cousins" was higher.
The root cause of the opposition by Democrats against President Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda, Rep. Fine continued, is not driven by supposed compassion, but because illegal aliens provide political power.
"Democrats do not care about the illegal immigrants," the Florida congressman said bluntly, "What they care about is political power."
After all, Fine said that "as anyone with a lick of sense is leaving places like New York, Minnesota, and California, and moving to places like Florida and Texas, Democrats are going to lose their ability to ever be able to run the country because they just won't be able to have the numbers in the House of Representatives."
"And so this is all about protecting the graft, protecting the illegal votes, [and] protecting the census for themselves," Fine concluded.
The Florida congressman has not minced words about illegal immigration in the past, previously telling The Floridian in June that he wanted all illegal aliens in the country to be removed, citing their economic toll on the United States and Florida in particular.
"I want people to self-deport," he previously told us. "But whatever we have to do to round them up and get them out of here, I am all in. So, I do not feel bad for people who came into this country illegally. They should go."
