TALLAHASSEE— Lt. Governor Jay Collins, who recently announced his intentions to run for governor of Florida in 2026, recently dogged a question about the extent of his service as a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret, raising the question if he was part of the deadliest, most elite military unit on the planet—Delta Force.

During a video interview with The Floridian, Lt. Gov. Collins was asked if he ever served with Delta Force after we noticed a particular plaque on his wall that "screams Delta Force."

While we will not show the plaque,  all arrows point to specifics on the plaque that in our opinion and extensive military knowledge, indicate service or involvement in the very clandestine special operations "Unit."

Lt. Gov Collins, who lost a leg during combat operations,  proudly speaks about his days as a Green Beret, and he did so in the video, but when we directly asked him about the plaque on his wall and asked him if he served in Delta Force, Collins sidestepped the question.

When we followed up on his dodge of the question, Collins again answered the question by pivoting to his service in the Army's 7th Special Forces group.

Collins directed us to pull his DD214 if we had any questions about his military service and final rank.

So, we did, and DD214's are only furnished to the military member or his immediate family.

In my opinion, something tells me that Collins' DD214 will confirm he was Delta.

Remember, Gov. DeSantis once referred to Collins as the "Chuck Norris of Florida Politics." Did Gov. DeSantis tease out Collin's past covert military history, or was it a coincidence?

As you know, Actor Chuck Norris portrayed a commander of the elite Delta Force.

According to to two sources within the special operations community, one a former Navy SEAL and the other a member of the Army's 75th Ranger Regiment, Collins' refusal to answer the question speaks volumes of that "warrior ethos" he speaks about.

According to the sources, members of Delta or SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU) never ever speak about their service in those respective units.

Delta and DEVGRU are the dudes that take out terrorists and enemies in the dead of night.

Remember that old movie quote, "never talk about fight club"?

Well, the same goes for those members of Delta or SEAL Team 6.

Tier 1: DELTA FORCE

Delta Force or 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D) is the most elite Tier 1 special operations unit on the planet, and is not under the command of the U.S. Special Operations Command. Instead, Delta is solely under the control of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), who also solely direct 24th Special Tactics Squadron and DEVGRU (U.S. Navy's SEAL TEAM 6).

Does the term 'Black Ops' mean anything to you?

Well, it should.

SEAL TEAM 6 and Delta are tasked to conduct the most dangerous mission. Osama Bin Laden was taken down by DEVGRU, but unlike Delta, members of SEAL Teams can talk about "Fight Club".

Because Delta is so secretive, members, both past and current, don't talk about "Fight Club".

Delta and DEVGRU, especially Delta,  are the two 'Black Ops' outfits that the President of the United States calls on in the middle of the night to eliminate or capture threats, so that Americans can sleep soundly through the night.

How secretive is Delta?

Well, the U.S. Army doesn't event acknowledge its existence, and make it a point to deny the group has ever existed. According to its official website promoting "Special Forces," the Army makes no mention of the elite group.

The Department of Defense only makes mention of 'Delta Force' once on its website. the Unit's mention of former Delta Operators Army Sgt. 1st Class Randall Shughart  and Army Master Sgt. Gary Gordon, may have been a mistake.

Gordon and Shughart were killed during the famed 'Battle of Mogadishu.' Both men were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the "highest military decoration awarded by the United States for valor in action against an enemy force."

Why?

Technically, DELTA is not party of the U.S. Army even though many of its members were recruited from the Green Berets, SEALS and the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Yeah, we have all seen Black Hawk Down, and have read numerous articles that solidify Delta's existence, as well as testimonials of former Unit members.

Considering how Gov. DeSantis, who served alongside Navy SEALS during his deployment to Iraq, likes to geek out over special operations soldiers and units, 'America's Governor' could see Collins as the perfect fit to follow in his footsteps.

The CIA's Special Activities Division (SAD) also conducts many of the non-military connected missions.

SAD conducts the "Mission Impossible" spy operations for the U.S. government.
