Governor Ron DeSantis joined Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) on the campaign trail Monday as she battles opponent state Representative Angie Nixon for Florida's seat in the U.S. Senate.
"Thank you to my friend Governor @RonDeSantis for joining us in Pinellas County to encourage folks to get out and VOTE! It was an honor to fight alongside you as Florida’s Attorney General as we turned Florida into the beacon of freedom for the rest of America," Sen. Moody wrote in an X post.

That is what’s on the ballot in 7 days, Florida: freedom vs socialism. Go Vote!

The pair campaigned for the passage of Amendment 3, a constitutional amendment that would raise the homestead exemption for property taxes.
"It's great that everyone wants to move to the Free State of Florida," Sen. Moody said during the event. "But it can't be at the expense of the people that helped build this state. It can't be at the expense of those who have been here for generations, have lived in their homes for decades. I refuse to let that happen."
Amendment 3 needs at least 60% of the vote to pass, and support currently sits below that threshold. Recent polls show support for the amendment sitting around 50% of the electorate.
While supporters argue it provides much-needed tax relief to homeowners, opponents argue it comes at the expense of essential services provided by municipalities that rely on those taxes to operate.
The state is about halfway through early voting and exactly one week away from election day Nov. 3.
