Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced this week that 47 additional charges have placed on a Hernando County man already accused of capital sexual battery on a child under twelve. Nathan Douglas Holmberg, 36, was indicted on 25 original charges, including seven counts of capital sexual battery, in November 2025.
“This monster committed the most heinous crimes imaginable against innocent children,” Uthmeier said in a release. We promised to bring the absolute maximum penalty under the law, and bringing these additional charges is part of fulfilling that promise. I commend our Statewide Special Task Force for leaving no stone unturned in this twisted case of cruelty.”
Along with the previous charges, Holmberg faces the following:
- 39 counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance
- 7 counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation on a Child Under 12
- 1 count of Video Voyeurism
Holmberg was arrested by Hernando County Sheriff's deputies on Oct. 20.
According to Uthmeier, Holmberg engaged in sexual abuse with a three-year-old and multiple other children in Hernando County. He also said Holmberg filmed the alleged crimes.
"If you harm a child, we will find you, we will prosecute you, and we will seek the maximum penalty under the law," Uthmeier said after the orginal indictment.
Holmberg faces the possibility of the death penalty on the original charges. The additional charges bring the possibility of up to ten life sentences.

In 2023, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law that would allow the state to seek the death penalty for a person convicted of rape of a child under 12, defying Supreme Court precedent under Kennedy v. Louisiana.
Florida and several other states are challenging the law.
The Office of Statewide Prosecution in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida will be in charge of the case.
