As President Donald Trump prepares to address the country from Mar-a-Lago, news continues to surface regarding the early-morning bombing in Venezuela. Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have reportedly been taken into custody, and Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced indictments.

Footage of Venezuelans in the country taking to the streets to celebrate the removal of Maduro is flooding social media, with Venezuelans in South Florida celebrating as well.

However, while Republicans are praising the Trump administration for its efforts to oust Maduro, Democrats are expressing concern.

In a statement, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) commented that "the capture of the brutal, illegitimate rule of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who oppressed Venezuela's people is welcome news for my friends and neighbors who fled his violent, lawless, and disastrous rule. However, cutting off the head of a snake is fruitless if it just regrows." The Florida Democrat went on to say that "Venezuelans deserve the promise of democracy and the rule of law, not a state of endless violence and spiraling disorder."

Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) took to X to share his thoughts, noting that he had spoken to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and that "today's decisive action is this hemisphere's equivalent of the Fall of the Berlin Wall." The South Florida Republican added that "it marks the beginning of the end for narco-terrorist regimes that have terrorized their people, flooded our communities with deadly drugs, and destabilized the Americas.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava also weighed in, stating that she is "deeply concerned about recent U.S. actions and steadfast in my support for Venezuelans seeking freedom, safety, and a peaceful path forward."

On X, Attorney General Bondi announced the indictments Maduro is facing, stating that "Nicolás Maduro has been charged with Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States."

President Trump is expected to address the American people from Mar-a-Lago at 11:00 A.M. ET., and The Floridian will be present.

The story is developing.
